Code Unlocking and Cable Unlocking
There are two methods used to unlock mobile phone: cable unlocking and code unlocking. UniquePhones can help you with both methods.
The appropriate method for unlocking your mobile phone depends on the make and model.
Code Unlocking: An unlock code unique to your particular handset model is generated and typed into your phone. The code is based on handsets serial number (an IMEI) and the network carrier who provided it plus the country origin of the phone.
Code unlocking is a little more expensive than cable unlocking and usually takes a little more time for us to generate your code.
Cable Unlocking: A less common method of unlocking involves updating the handset's firmware. This method requires a USB cable to connect your computer to a special programming feature on your cell phone, which will override the locks placed on the phone by the carrier. While more complicated, it is the only method of unlocking for some model mobile phones.
Cable unlocking is slightly less expensive than code unlocking and is instant.
Recommendation: We recommend using code unlocking if your technical knowledge is very limited. Neither unlocking process can damage your handset and both methods are guaranteed to fully unlock your handset.
With either of these two methods, you will have the assistance and knowledge of our great customer support staff available to you in case you encounter any unlikely problems. An unlocked handset is a more valuable handset.
